Mizuno Hatchet Warikomi 80mm w/Cover

The smallest edge in the range, the 70mm is all about precision. It comes from the Mizuno Seisakujo forge in Sanjo, Niigata, where the family has been hammering out edged tools for nearly ninety years.

A short edge puts your cutting power exactly where you want it. That makes this hatchet a favourite for carving, shaping, feathering fire sticks, and fine kindling work. Don’t let the size fool you, though. The warikomi head pairs a hard carbon steel core with a tough iron body, so it’s built to work, not to sit on a shelf.

The head is mounted on a curved oak handle and comes with a leather sheath. As with any carbon steel tool, keep it dry and lightly oiled and it will look after you for years.
